At Midtown 12 South, we long to be a church family where every person feels seen, known, and cared for.

We believe that life is both beautiful and broken — that seasons of joy often mingle with sorrow, loss, and struggle. In the midst of it all, we want our community to reflect the heart of Jesus by walking alongside one another with compassion, presence, and grace.

Creating a culture of care means fostering meaningful relationships, offering support in times of need, and reminding one another that we don’t have to walk alone. Through the leadership of our Director of Care and the partnership of our elders and our staff, we seek to build a church where care is not just a ministry, but a way of life together.

Our philosophy

Creating a culture of care at 12 South through the ministry of showing up.

How we care

We’re here with you and for you.

Prayer
Each Sunday, our prayer team and elders are available to listen, support, and pray with anyone seeking encouragement or requesting intercession.
Care visits
Our leaders prioritize presence by visiting those facing hospitalization, loss, or extended time at home, offering support in vulnerable times.
Meals
In partnership with small groups, our meals team provides practical support for individuals and families navigating illness, grief, surgery, or major life transitions.
Benevolence
For those facing financial strain, we offer a confidential process to request assistance and explore ways the church can help meet tangible needs.
Counsel
Whether through pastoral care, pre-marital meetings*, or referrals to trusted professionals, our team connects you to gospel-centered counsel as needed.
Bereavement
When a death occurs, a care team comes alongside the grieving family to offer support and coordinate funeral logistics with thoughtfulness and grace.
*Premarital counseling is requested through our Wedding Page linked here and cannot be guaranteed due to the pastor’s availability.
Recovery Groups

One of the unique ways that we provide care at Midtown 12 South is through Recovery Groups.

Recovery Groups provide a safe, supportive space to be honest about what’s going on and to experience the healing power of being truly known and accepted. These groups aren’t a Bible study or a 12-Step program — instead, they combine open sharing, book discussion, and space to process stories. Recovery Groups typically form in the fall and end in the spring.
